When people believe their future is hopeless, they may give up and die. Fortunately, there are higher purposes. While the physical Universe is chaotic, random, disorganizes towards Entropy death, and has no purpose; life organizes with a purpose.
Most people believe that the highest purpose is to survive. But our Universe demands organization, even for inanimate objects. For example, a kitchen table can not stand on one leg, or two. A table requires at least three legs and four is more stable. More complex physical phenomena such as burning suns, solar systems, and galaxies require the constructive interaction (organization) of an infinite number of physical objects.
Forms of life require high levels of organization. They organize their internal organs. They also organize their external environment. They are called organisms because they organize.
Humans create organizations with other humans. A single human will not survive in this chaotic and powerful physical Universe without the help of others. People must combine their strengths and energies to survive. And over the long term, people must learn how to work in large cooperative teams, otherwise, humanity will be annihilated like the dinosaurs by some random, natural catastrophe. Our Universe requires a very high level of organization for humans to manage asteroids, planets, and solar systems.
Our Universe applies the carrots of survival and evolution against the sticks of death and annihilation to tell us that the purpose of life is not to survive, but to organize and
evolve organizations into more powerful systems. Maybe, even to save the physical Universe from Entropy death.
